Rumsfeld

Last week G.W.B. announced Rumsfeld was his man 'till the end of his presidency. This week he canned Rummy after considering for some time. What's goin on with the Pres? :roll:

Or perhaps Rumsfeld saw the election results and decided resigning was the best thing he could choose to do for his president and party...

Who knows if he was actually forced out or not but the military paper editorials two days before the election may have had numerous consequences.

Probably forced out. Do you think that W would have had a replacement ready to step in the same day if he didn't know it was coming? Things like this don't seem to happen at the spur of the moment.

Eerily similar to the "Heck of a job, Brownie" pat on the back shortly before the axe fell at FEMA.

True. Listening to NPR yesterday, Bush explained that he had made his decision last week, but didn't want to "influence the election" by canning him prior to it. Perhaps, it would have helped the conservative cause if he had.
