A Little Humor

Postby KEN » Thu Apr 12, 2007 6:13 pm

There`s been a lot lousy news on The Message Board as of late. So, here`s a joke to lighten it up a little. :)
Subject: : Retired Guys Bar

> Four retired guys were walking down the street in Tomahawk,WI ,when they saw a sign that said, "Old Timer's Bar"
>
> "All Drinks 10 Cents!"
>
>
> They looked at each other, then went in, thinking this is too good to be true! :)
>
> "Wow, that's quite a story" said one of the men. As they continued to sip their brews, they couldn't help but notice the other three guys at the end of the bar who didn't have a drink in front of them...and hadn't ordered anything all the while they were there. :p

that is the joy of forwarding e-mails - the punch line can be changed to read anything - Viking jokes changed to Bears etc....... fun though, isn't it? ;)

Ice Fishing Contest - Packers vs Vikings

The Vikings challenged the Packers to an ice-fishing contest. When it came time for the catch weigh-in, the Packers had 100 lbs. of fish, and the Vikings had zero. The Vikings demanded a rematch for the next Saturday.

This time the Packers came in with 200 lbs. of fish, and the Vikings had zero. The Vikings decided the Packers must be cheating so they demanded another rematch, and sent a spy dressed in green and gold to check it out.

This time the Packers came in with 300 lbs., and the Vikings still had zero. So, the Vikings asked their spy if the Packers were cheating.

"**** yes, they were cheating! They were drilling holes in the ice!"

Oh sorry Dopey, the Honey Weiss is so good this time of year or any time of year for that matter. A frosted mug and a lemon. It doesn't get any better than that. I'll be thinking of you on Monday morning as I drive past Leinie's on my way to work!

Beer, as in Leinenkugel's, brewed in Chippewa Falls, WI. You can check it out here http://www.leinie.com/ . In places beyond Wisconsin it's considered an exotic brew! In Chippewa it's just Leinie's.

Ken,
You must have moved to Cali very early in life to not know that "Leinies" refers to Leinenkugel's Brewing! (Nectar of the Brewmasters everywhere.)

Hey Jeff,

Sorry to say that I never heard of Leinenkugel during my early years in Tomahawk and a little later in Wausau. Pabst and Miller were my beer of choice at that time. Out in CA it's Heineken's. But looking at the Leinenkugel web site sure makes me thirsty to give it a try. Unfortunately, they don't distribute in CA...the nearest state being Nevada. Well, now I have an excuse to go to Tahoe or Las Vegas...for the beer!!!!

p.s. The Summer Shandy and Red Lager look to have some great potential.....

Ken,
I'm a fan of two CA breweries. Old Rasputin & Old Stock Ale by North Coast Brewing and anything brewed by Alesmith are fine by me.

The skydiving instructor was going through the question and answer period with his new students when one of them asked the usual question always asked, "If our chute doesn’t open; and the reserve doesn’t open, how long do we have till we hit the ground?"
'
'

The jump instructor answered, "The rest of your life."

Actually Ken, Leinie's is now owned by Miller. The Leinenkugel's still have much to say about how the company is run. If ever in Chippewa Falls, the Leinie Lodge is a must see. Leinie's merchantise and the like are available in a northwoods lodge setting. Of course, if you take the tour there is a cold glass of Leinie's waiting for the sampling.

Point Special (The Blue Bullet) & Point Bock still rocks, even though the bock is now called Spring Bock.

There are an abundance of fine WI breweries. Central Waters, New Glarus, Capital, Sprecher, & Point are only a few.

Give Central waters (Amherst, WI) a try. Their Bourbon barrel Cherry Stout was a gold medal winner in the Great America Brew Fest. Satin Soltice is a very fine imperial stout. Their Honey Blonde & Mudpuppy Porter more than pass inspection too!

Too bad the Log Jam Brewery had to close down at Kings Dam. We loved the Ax-Handle Red beer they brewed. Kings was an awesome place to fish and have a few good beers. Art was the best.

Don't forget City Brewery in LaCrosse. A favorite of my son is the Kul Brew.
