We're dry as a popcorn fart around here. Any better around Tomahawk? Any "burn bans" going on?
A friend at work almost lost his camp/cottage due to a neighbor who HAD to have a bonfire. His place is a couple counties east of Tomahawk.

Warm and dry ! Storms have been going north and south of us. My lawn is just about gone, but that is a good thing. Saves on the lawn mower. No burning bans yet, but if we don't get some rain in the near future, I can see it happening.

I don't remember where this was, but some playground equipment, as reported by the local news, caught fire and burned up as a result of spontanious combustion due to rotting wood chips being used as a substrate under the equipment.

Dry as can be here too in Chippewa County. Storms and rain all around us Monday night, only enough to wet our deck. Eau Claire had 1 1/2". The corn is drying and brown. We camped in Taylor County last weekend at the National Forest campgrounds, (Miller Dam), from what I understand the fire danger was considered moderate. The flowage there is very low. Not a good scenerio.

BTW Jeff, I haven't heard "dry as a popcorn fart" in years!!! Thanks for the memories, that was one of my dad's favorites.

Don't complain too much about a moderate fire hazard... I'm on my way back from our cabin in Montana and they're at a level 2 fire restriction. You can't run a chain-saw after 1 PM, no open fires of any kind, etc. We woke up on Monday and thought there was fog until we opened the door and all you could smell was smoke from all the fires in the state.

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain (somewhere other than Texas).
