I'm sure the terror-mongering Yassir Arafat is quaking in his sandals at this one. Now he has not only the United States and Israeli governments on his case, but the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are after him, too. That ought to bring the most domineering tyrant to his knees.

Frankly, I've always thought that PETA people were about a sandwich short of a picnic, but now I think an honest case can be made for declaring them legally incompetent and having them institutionalized. Remember how they developed an ad campaign that attempted to get college students to drink more beer instead of milk? Well, get this one.

PETA folks were disturbed because of the death of a donkey in a Jan. 20 bombing that took place in Jerusalem. The group was so angry, in fact, that a letter was sent to Arafait: "Your Excellency, we have received many calls and letters from people shocked at the bombing ... All nations behave abominably in many ways when they are fighting their enemies, and animals are always caught in the crossfire. The U.S. Army abandoned thousands of loyal service dogs in Vietnam. Al-Qaida and the British government have both used animals in hideously cruel biological weaponry tests. We watched on television as stray cats in your own compound fled as best they could from the Israeli bulldozers. ... If you have the opportunity, will you please add to your burdens my request that you appeal to all those who listen to you to leave the animals out of this conflict?

The letter was written by a Ms. Newkirk on behalf of PETA. When asked why she didn't urge Arafat to stop the bombing of innocent civilians, she replied, "It's not my business to inject myself into human wars."

Isn't that just a hoot? PETA-files can poke their collective noses into every other area of human activity - food, clothing, medicine and hobbies - but when it comes to homicidal maniacs blowing up innocent people, that's none of the organization's business!

Like I said, of all the nuts who should be locked away, some of the worst are still walking around loose.

Some of the idiots over in the Middle East are at least improving the gene pool by blowing themselves up. Unfortunately, they are taking a lot of innocent people with them. Maybe they could do some practice runs with live explosives at the PETA meetings ...?

Actually Koran is the common anglicized spelling and used by most professional translators e.g. N.J. Dawood although there are at least three "correct" spellings (just like Kadafi). It means "The Recital", but I don't see where anyone here used the word. Arafat gets beat up a little both spelling wise and ideologically, but as spelling and grammar goes this forum and its users are far abobve the online forum norm.

Hey Larry look at this! These PETA folks are really losing it!!

SAN DIEGO (AP) _ An animal-rights campaign comparing the
suffering of livestock to that of victims of the Holocaust is
drawing fire from a leading Jewish group for ``trivializing'' the
mass murder of Jews.
The campaign by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,
``The Holocaust on Your Plate,'' debuted this week in California
and will make a national tour. A two-hour display was scheduled for
Friday in San Diego.
The display is a set of eight 6-foot-by-10-foot panels showing
photographs of Holocaust victims _ emaciated men, crowds of people
being forced onto trains, children behind barbed wire, heaps of
human bodies _ set next to similar images of cattle, pigs and
chickens.
The Anti-Defamation League denounced the project and PETA's
appeal for support from the Jewish community as ``outrageous,
offensive and taking chutzpah to new heights.''
Abraham H. Foxman, a Holocaust survivor and ADL national
director, said linking the deliberate, systematic murder of
millions of Jews to the issue of animal rights was ``abhorrent.''
``Abusive treatment of animals should be opposed, but cannot and
must not be compared to the Holocaust,'' he said in a statement.
``The uniqueness of human life is the moral underpinning for those
who resisted the hatred of Nazis and others ready to commit
genocide even today.''
The PETA campaign was originated by Matt Prescott, a staff
member of the Norfolk, Va.,-based group, who is Jewish and said his
family lost several members in Nazi concentration camps. It was
funded by a Jewish philanthropist who wishes to remain anonymous,
Prescott said.
The philanthropist is known for her knowledge of the Holocaust
and has worked to educate people about Holocaust issues, Prescott
said Friday.
He said criticism of the project was expected.
``Nobody likes to have their suffering compared to the suffering
of others,'' Prescott said. ``Everybody likes to think their
suffering is unique.''
``The fact is all animals feel pain, fear and loneliness in the
same way. We're asking people to recognize that what Jews and other
went through in the Holocaust is what animals go through every day
in factory farms.''
The display received mixed reactions earlier this week in
Berkeley, San Jose and Los Angeles, Prescott said. It is set to
move to Phoenix on Monday.

There's nothing worse than a petafile, I just found out ones living in my neighborhood. They should all be castrated!
