A letter in the Aug. 7 Tomahawk Leader:
The 2007 Lincoln County 4-H Fair has come and gone. A big thank you goes out to all the exhibitors, department chair people and committee members, ambassadors, fair board members, community members and sponsors who made this year's fair a reality. Without all of the support and hard work of everyone involved this huge event would not be possible.
Right after an event is the best time to make notes/suggestions about what went well and what could be improved for future events. To help accomplish this, the Lincoln County 4-H Leaders' Association, Inc. will be holding a Fair Review Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 16, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Land Resource Center Meeting Room, 1106 East Eighth Street in Merrill. We encourage exhibitors, department workers and anyone who has comments or suggestions for next year’s fair to attend.

Notice the empty vendor spaces. Why, because each vendor needs to purchase a two million dollar liability insurance policy, besides the booth fee. I,m not sure how much insurance is needed to sit behind a card table handing out flyers. If a person trips over his own two feet stepping into a booth under the grandstand, or outside, let the county or fair board be liable to carry insurance to cover it. This sure limits promoting new business and existing busines to Lincoln County.
