BOW Deer Hunt Lottery

Postby Tomahawk Leader » Thu Jan 31, 2008 7:32 pm

Dear BOW enthusiasts;

The Wisconsin BOW (Becoming an Outdoors Woman) program is pleased to announce an actual deer hunt for women, offered in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Treehaven Field Station, Tomahawk, as a Learn-to-Hunt program.

The event will be held October 31-November 2, 2008.

This is a very special learn-to-hunt opportunity designed especially for adult women.

Participants will experience a first-time quality hunt with the guidance of an experienced hunting mentor. The program is designed with all the signature BOW elements including:

• top-notch, PATIENT instructors and mentors
• supportive, non-competitive atmosphere
• camaraderie with others who love the outdoors
• delicious, nutritious meals
• modern, clean, lodging and bath facilities
• guest speakers, entertainment and door-prizes

Participants will have exclusive access to Treehaven’s beautiful property on which to hunt. While we cannot guarantee that everyone will harvest a deer, we can promise a safe, educational experience that will introduce you to hunting in a fun and positive way.

For more information on the program and how to enter your name into the lottery for a chance to win a spot in the hunt, go to:
http://www.uwsp.edu/cnr/bow/wihome/index.htm and click on the link for the hunt.

The drawing will be held THIS FRIDAY, February 1, 2008. This is one day later than listed in the registration information in order to give more people a chance to enter.

Good luck to all!

According to the hunters that frequent this board, there are few deer in the Tomahawk area. What will they do? Set up decoy
targets for their students?
What if there were no hypothetical questions?

Not to worry the girls will find the deer!! How is this possible you ask? Uterine SONAR! The tool women use to find things most men can't find, like the ketchup in the frig, last year's taxes, the spare screwdriver in the junk drawer, pizza cutter, .....!?!!??!

Kerry, whatever do you mean? OK, maybe you got me on that one! Just for the record those are the only items that our "sonar" has difficulty locating.
