Must have clean running water to serve food
Must meet electrical standards
Must meet fire codes
Must meet numerous food related codes
Employees must wash hands before leaving bathroom
Must follow OSHA safety requirements
Must meet handicap accessibility requirements in a remodel
Must have operating licenses
I'm sure we can find a ton more...
Consumers could have chosen to visit businesses that label there exits, etc. For everyone's good, we simply require it by law... How is smoking really any different?
