School Logos

I see the idiots in Madison are on a kick over school mascots and logos again. Tomahawk, is on the list of schools that they feel should change their logo. I like the comment that THS principal Scott Swenty made in the Rhinelander paper.

"The Hatchets are not interested in changing their name.
“We’ve dealt with the mascot thing in the past,” THS Principal Scott Swenty said. “The Hatchets don’t have anything to do with being a Native American name. Actually, if you look it up in the dictionary, it’s a French tool.”

Swenty believes that Tomahawk sometimes gets unfairly lumped into a category with other schools that use American Indian names because of the town’s name.

“I don’t think we’re going to change the name of our town,” Swenty said. “Our position is that we are not, at any point in time, discussing changing our mascot.”

Way to go Scott, you tell em. This is getting ridicules, if this is the case then I should demand that the Vikings change their name and logo because it is an insult to my Norwegian ancestors. That would make as much sense !

That Madison idiot Elizabeth Burmaster that is now running Nicolet collage in Rhinelander is the one that started all of that stuff with the Tomahawk Hatchets. This reaper of tax dollars doesn't even know that a hatchet is an object and not an American Indian maiden's name. The Nicolet Board should hang their heads in shame for hiring that WEAC, bought and paid for, Madison bureaucrat.
