A Letter to the Editor in the April 13, 2010, Tomahawk Leader:
I’m well aware of the adage “curiosity killed the cat.” Nevertheless I’m curious as to why the continuation of cluttered, unsanitary yards and buildings are allowed immunity from the city “junk ordinance.”
I’m told the protocol is to file a complaint against the properties at the town hall. They in turn are to pass it on to the Police Dept. for enforcement.
So you file a complaint and later check with the police dept. only to be told they have no record of a complaint ever having been filed.
What’s going on here? Is there an unholy alliance in existence between the enforcement personnel and slumlord owner/tenants allowing immunity?
Let’s show some pride in our property!
To reiterate, I’m just curious.
