Quarterly payments to local governments for infrastructure top $145 million

City of Tomahawk received $67,681.70 in General Transportation Aid from state

Governor Tony Evers announced that local governments received $145,978,567 on Monday, July 1, for General Transportation Aids, Connecting Highway Aids and Expressway Policing Aids from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The budget signed by Evers on July 3 provides a 10% increase to general transportation aids. That $66 million increase over the biennium will be paid to counties, towns, villages and cities beginning in January 2020.

This month’s payments to 1,922 local units of government include $142,706,717 in General Transportation Aids; $3,015,784 to 117 municipalities entitled to receive Connecting Highway Aids; and $255,975 to Milwaukee County for Expressway Policing Aids.

Local governments will receive an estimated $473 million from the state transportation fund this calendar year to build and maintain roads and bridges.

Cities, towns and villages receive quarterly payments on the first Monday of every January, April, July and October. County payments are made in three installments, with 25% on the first Monday in January, 50% on the first Monday in July and 25% in the first Monday in October.

General Transportation Aid to Lincoln County totaled $591,300.26. Payments to Lincoln County cities and towns included: City of Tomahawk, $67,681.70; City of Merrill, $165,144.11; Town of Birch, $14,904.11; Town of Bradley, $46,979.68; Town of Corning, $57,951.16; Town of Harding, $20,204.96; Town of Harrison, $34,819.67; Town of King, $20,658.87; Town of Merrill, $39,681.29; Town of Pine River, $38,713.74; Town of Rock Falls, $22,384.93; Town of Russell, $20,432.72; Town of Schley, $28,554.97; Town of Scott, $33,338.49; Town of Skanawan, $14,196.63; Town of Somo, $12,464.60; Town of Tomahawk, $21,160.56; Town of Wilson $13,764.33.

Oneida County received $445,039.96 in General Transportation Aid. Payments to cities and towns included: City of Rhinelander, $156,328.74; Town of Cassian, $54,045.15; Town of Crescent, $29,534.01; Town of Enterprise, $8,528.73; Town of Hazelhurst, $30,035.70; Town of Lake Tomahawk, $36,175.43; Town of Little Rice; $27,527.25; Town of Lynne, $48,233.91; Town of Minocqua, $115,555.93; Town of Monico, $13,014.07; Town of Newbold, $67,351.88; Town of Nokomis, $31,708.00; Town of Pelican, $43,234.92; Town of Piehl, $8,349.55; Town of Pine Lake, $39,896.30; Town of Schoepke, $18,317.65; Town of Stella, $23,292.75; Town of Sugar Camp, $43,485.77; Town of Three Lakes, $77,218.45; Town of Woodboro, $28,900.92; Town of Woodruff $38,042.41.

Price County received $286,019.38 in General Transportation Aid. Payments to cities, villages and towns included: City of Park Falls, $59,421.15; City of Phillips, $42,750.62; Village of Catawba, $4,652.05; Village of Kennan, $2,711.51; Village of Prentice, $10,144.04; Town of Catawba, $15,910.74; Town of Eisenstein, $46,824.40; Town of Elk, $29,396.64; Town of Emery, $48,478.78; Town of Fifield, $71,239.98; Town of Flambeau, $35,990.28; Town of Georgetown, $18,895.50; Town of Hackett, $20,853.54; Town of Harmony, $13,084.83; Town of Hill, $18,837.26; Town of Kennan, $36,265.02; Town of Knox, $19,991.71; Town of Lake, $51,441.14; Town of Ogema, $34,980.93; Town of Prentice, $29,247.86; Town of Spirit, $18,180.29; Town of Worcester $69,167.52.

Vilas County received $391,818.48 in General Transportation Aid. Payments to cities and towns included: City of Eagle River, $65,852.64; Town of Arbor Vitae, $52,193.67; Town of Boulder Junction, $54,045.15; Town of Cloverland, $22,683.55; Town of Conover, $53,650.96; Town of Lac Du Flambeau, $84,887.14; Town of Land O’ Lakes, $50,413.87; Town of Lincoln, $38,134.41; Town of Manitowish Waters, $33,284.74; Town of Phelps, $61,152.42; Town of Plum Lake, $54,618.51; Town of Presque Isle, $36,748.79; Town of Saint Germain, $52,325.07; Town of Washington, $43,426.04; Town of Winchester $25,902.73.
