I am writing this letter asking our government, local and in Madison, to keep the smoking ban in place. The medical professionals have proven that secondhand smoke kills. With the high cost of medicine, why would anyone want to add to it, with more people getting diseases caused by second hand smoke? Nonsmokers are very limited to go to restaurants, listen to bands at bars, go bowling, go to fish fries and go to public functions because there are always people smoking. The smoke decreases our ability to taste food, to breath without coughing, and to some of us if we are there too long it causes us to have nosebleeds. The smell of smoke then gets into our cars and homes.
I have made the choice not to smoke and I am tired of having to be put in harm’s way in order to even enjoy a simple dinner out. This is one of the better laws the government has put in place. There are many others that our candidate governors can repeal. I will be glad to give them a list.
