As in past years, it was too long, took at least one life and produced more drinking and driving than the area will likely see throughout an entire year.

Other than that, it went well.

Anybody know the stats Tomahawk vs Sturgis for accidents? I'm talking percentages.

Deb,

It would be hard to compare Tomahawk and Sturgis. Lately Sturgis has been starting a week or two before actual Sturgis Week, and lasting a week after. There were at least 14 fatalities connected to Sturgis, but the number could be even higher. If you leave New York City for Sturgis, and have a accident in New Jersey, it won`t be labeled as a Sturgis accident. And the crowd for the week bebore and week after Stugis is easily over 100,000, and spans more then just one city or town.
I`ve been riding a motorcycle for a long time, and nothing adds more to your chance of having a mishap more then night riding and drinking.

Before comparing stats consider not only 4 days verses 14 days, but 40,000 riders verses 400,000.

Didn't seem to be as many bikes in town as in the past. Don't know if it was the weather or if more of them were attending the events at Bubba's and just didn't hang around town. Just didn't seem to be as many overall.
The National Institutes of Health has just released the results of a $200 million research study completed under a grant to Johns Hopkins.
The new study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.

The fall-ride parade was great, the marching band wasn't even out of step (obscure refrence to 4th of July Parade thread). :)

Worrd though the grapevine here in the Milwaukee area is that the Harley Mystique is fading due to the secret Corporate buy-off of union votes. Harley biggest fans, and first-come buyers were employees. This has lots of people looking to other brands now.
