Skatepark Please

Postby ScooteringKing » Sat Apr 18, 2015 7:57 pm

Hi, I'm a local scooter-er and I am getting board of the falling apart skatepark. How can I get the city/town to restore the what used to be a beautiful place (besides the old drug dealers) back to it's former glory?

The skatepark was well after my Tomahawk days, however I think if you wanted to restore anything like that in my opinion, would be to initiate some interest from younger groups, boy and girl scouts, school clubs, perhaps some weekend warrior types who like to partake. I think these things fall apart because the liability for injury is such a risk for the city to operate, they close them up.It would cost a lot for just a few who participate to maintain and insure. One broken arm, busted tooth on city property could cost a lot of money to taxpayers. Was this a privately owned thing? I have no idea, but perhaps it could be turned into something that offers a bit more...go carts, mini golf, batting cages, dog park as well and charge like a business? Just my guess here.
