New to the Tomahawk School District are these teachers, shown with new Tomahawk Middle School Principal Todd Fischer, second from left, are from left, Trish Piskula, a University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point graduate, taking over for the two combined positions of retirees Dave Waldum, high school science, and Laurie Mitchell, eighth grade science; Reggie Smith, Merrill, a UWSP graduate who spent eight years in the National Guard with a tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005-06, taking over for Tressa Votis in THS social studies; and Kelly LeVeque, Antigo, a mother of two (ages 5 and 7), who graduated in criminal justice from UW-Eau Claire and received her master's in educational psychology, was a probation/parole agent in Milwaukee before becoming a guidance counselor at Wausau Newman the past nine years, taking over for retired Nancy Herbison, THS guidance. Principal Fischer, who has stepped in for Mitch Hamm who moved elsewhere within the Tomahawk district, previously served as grade 6-12 assistant principal for middle school and high school in the Oseeo-Fairchild School District for six years.
