Garrett Schultz

Garrett C. Schultz, age 20, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Eau Claire, WI. He was born April 28, 1999 in Wausau to Kristann (Nyberg) Hagar and Chris Schultz.

Garrett grew up in Tomahawk and was a 2017 graduate of Tomahawk High School. Garrett was currently attending UW Eau Claire where he was studying computer programming. He took great pride in working at UPS while going to college. The previous two summers he spent working alongside his dad at Pieper Power.

Garrett was an avid gamer and had built his own gaming computer from scratch. He was a deep thinker and enjoyed philosophical conversations. He was known as being thoughtful and sensitive with a soft heart and a great sense of humor. He could frequently be found having a one-on-one heartfelt conversation or asking family for fashion or cooking advice.

Garrett enjoyed bowling, golf, tennis, soccer, foosball, snowmobiling, pontooning, weight lifting, running and fitness. He enjoyed playing Magic the Gathering and Risk the board game. Garrett was the best man at his Dad’s wedding and was disappointed they didn’t go to Las Vegas for the bachelor party.

Garrett had an appreciation for the arts. He had a love for various genres of music, everything from Mozart to 70s rock, he recently picked up photography as a hobby, and he even found caring for his beard and long hair as form of self expression.

Survivors include his father, Chris (Deonn) Schultz of Tomahawk, his mother, Kristann Hagar of Tomahawk, his paternal grandmother Henrietta Schultz of Merrill, his maternal grandparents Edwin and Sally Nyberg of Tomahawk, his siblings, Zachary Hagar of Tomahawk, Celia (Eric) Paczwa of Madison, Erica (Adam) Schmit of St. Paul, Minnesota, Nicholas (Amelia) Hagar of Black River Falls, Nathan Scott Hagar of Madison, and Adrianna Schultz of Eau Claire; his nephew Aldo Hagar, and his niece Alexa Paczwa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Garrett was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wilbur Schultz in 2011, and his Uncle, Eddie Nyberg in 2008.

Funeral Services for Garrett C. Schultz will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11 AM from Generations Funeral Home in Tomahawk, with Deacon David Bablick to officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, July 24, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Generations. Visitation continues on Thursday from 10 am until the time of services at 11 am.

Generations Funeral Home & Crematory of Tomahawk is assisting the family. View Garrett’s obituary and leave online condolences at generationsfuneral.com.
