John C. Haapakoski

John C. Haapakoski, age 90, of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. John was born October 27, 1928 in Brantwood, WI to the late Matt and Hannah (Metsala) Haapakoski. He grew up in Brantwood. John served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was married to Eileen Antonia in 1952; she survives.

John and Eileen moved to Oak Creek, WI and raised their family there. He worked as a steel press worker at a factory in West Allis, WI for many years. John and Eileen moved back to the Tomahawk area permanently in 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and trapping. John was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He loved getting back to his roots and living in the Northwoods with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eileen Haapakoski of Tomahawk, His Children, Dennis (Jan) Haapakoski of South Milwaukee, Debbie (Wally) Scheiderer of St. George, Georgia, Jan VanNorman of Southern Milwaukee, Donna Haapakoski of Tomahawk, and Scott (Tammy) Haapakoski of Oak Creek, WI.

John is further survived by his Grandchildren Jason, Jessie, Jeremy, Noel, Jenny, John, Amber, Melissa, Michael, and Hannah. He is also survived 10 Great Grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his Parents, a Grandson, Justin, 2 Sisters, Helen and Shirley, and 4 Brothers, Onnie, Bill, Leonard, and Edward.
