Thomas Stone

Thomas Stone, age 73, of Crescent Lake, passed away on September 1, 2019 under the care of Ascension at Home Hospice.

Tom was born on March 22, 1946 to William and Ruth (Nickel) Stone. He was married to Donna (Anderson) Bahlon October 3, 1998 at Lane’s Cottage Inn. Tom was a graduate of UW Stevens Point. He worked for Employers Insurance in Wausau from 1969 until 1994. He then started work at Aspirus Outpatient Rehab until his retirement in 2014. Tom loved nature and doing anything outdoors, especially with his beloved wife, best friend and soulmate at his side. He enjoyed hunting and cross country skiing and participated in 9 Birkebeiner races. Tom’s greatest passion, however, was breeding and raising “Stoney Acres Retrievers” puppies. His delight was seeing the joy that the puppies brought to families and the making of lifelong friends. He also treasured seeing all 9 of his grandchildren growing up. Tom was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.

Tom is survived by his wife – Donna Stone of Crescent Lake; children – Todd (Kriss) Stone of Mequon and Sarah (Terry) Mann of Tomahawk; stepchildren – Jessica (Mike) Runyon of Ellsworth, WI; and Josh (April) Bahl of San Diego, California. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren – Macey and Norah Mann, Ben and Allison Stone, Ali, Katie, and Makayla Runyon, and Ryann and Austin Bahl. Tom also leaves behind his first wife and friend, Joan Jackson. Tom is preceded in death by his brother – Butch & sister – Mary.

The Memorial Service for Tom Stone will take place at 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church, Tomahawk. Pastor Mark Ziemer & Pastor Nancy Richmond will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m.
