Rose M. Hoff, age 90, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, WI, under Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Rose was born May 11, 1929, in Tomahawk to the late Ingward and Esther (Splettstozer) Crass.

Rose grew up in the Frenchtown area and was a lifelong resident of Tomahawk. She was first married to Harold Bohnert, Sr., and later married to Melvin Hoff.

She had been employed in the Cleaning Department at Sacred Heart Hospital. She later worked in the Bakery at Nelson’s Super Market. Rose was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Red Hat Society, Joyful Noise, and the Grace Lutheran Church Bible Study. She enjoyed swimming at the Tomahawk School, baking for her family, ceramics, needlepoint, and gardening.

Survivors include her Son, Dennis Bohnert; her Daughter, Dixie (David) Erickson; her Stepson, Milan (Irish) Hoff; her Stepdaughters, Judy (Gerald) Crass, and Barbara (Frank) Berg. She is further survived by 17 Grandchildren and many Great-Grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her former Husband, Harold Bohnert, Sr.; her Brothers, Kermit and Lawrence Crass; her Sisters, Dorothy Garber, Vi Walbeck, and Donna Gullo; her Husband, Melvin Hoff; Sons, Harry Bohnert, Harold “Tinker” Bohnert, Jr.; Infant Son, Darrell; and her Stepdaughter, Marilyn Bargander.

Memorial Services for Rose Hoff were held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at 11 a.m., from Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Susan Christian officiated with inurnment taking place at Greenwood Cemetery. The family received friends for Visitation on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. until the time of Services in the church at 11 a.m. Memorials are appreciated to Grace Lutheran Church. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Pine Crest Nursing Home and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
