Ronald C. Sarkkinen, age 87, of Brantwood, WI, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk.

Ron was born at home in Brantwood on December 17, 1931 to Kusti “Gus”and Tynne “Lena” (Niemi) Sarkkinen. He was married to Deon Schroeder. Ron was a mechanic traveling with a road construction crew for many years, before ending up back in Brantwood, where he was a Finnish “jippo” (logger).

Ron is survived by four children – Randy (Frances) Sarkkinen of Colby, Sherry Sarkkinen of Minocqua, Tom Sarkkinen of Brantwood and Jamie Sarkkinen of Minnesota; his brother – Dale (Bobbie) Sarkkinen; and 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his special friends – Ken Maki, Marcie Braski and his beloved dog, Jonas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife –Deon, four siblings and grandson – Michael Sarkkinen, son of Randy & Frances.

Ron’s life will be celebrated privately.
