The Tomahawk Fire Department was called to the intersection of Bearskin/Hiawatha Trail and West Leather Avenue Thursday afternoon for an elderly woman who had fallen and was found in the brush by a passerby out for a daily walk. Fire Chief Beetle Nyberg told the off-duty officer who found the woman he probably saved a life, as the woman was discovered just hours before the sunset. A dog found at the scene was taken to the vet office and the woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Look for more on this incredible lifesaving effort in the next issue of the Tomahawk Leader.
