Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Dec. 9, 2019

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Dec. 9:

A Tomahawk man, 50, was arrested Monday morning for misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and battery after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the Town of Bradley.

One person was injured following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in the Town of Bradley. The incident happened on US Hwy. 8 at US Hwy. 51 at 7:24 p.m. A portion of US Hwy. 8 was closed for over an hour until the vehicles were removed.

A Phillips man, 50, was arrested Thursday evening on a warrant charge. A deputy checking on a vehicle in the ditch on Nelson Ave. in the Town of Birch made contact with the man and found he was wanted by the Wood County Sheriff for retail theft.

A Town of Pine River man was the victim of a fraud last week. The man reported receiving texts on his phone asking if he has recently made financial transactions which were labeled as suspicious. The man replied to the text that he did not make the purchases. Once he responded he immediately received an automated phone call telling him the transactions were being investigated as fraud and then asked the man to provide his pin number to his debit card. Shortly after that, someone accessed the man’s account at an ATM in New Jersey and withdrew nearly $500. Deputies are working with the man’s bank and continue to investigate.

A Wausau woman, 32, was arrested Saturday evening following a crash on County Rd. K near County Rd. Q in the Town of Scott just before 5 p.m. She was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control.

A Hazelhurst man, 27, was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and operating without a valid license (third offense) and was arrested on two counts of felony bail jumping after deputies investigated a vehicle in the ditch at CTH J and CTH JJ Sunday morning around 6:30 a.m.

A Nekoosa man, 53, was arrested Sunday morning on a disorderly conduct charge. Deputies requested the Wood County Sheriff’s Office take the man into custody after they investigated a threat complaint in the Town of Pine River.

A Green Bay man, 35, was arrested Sunday evening for a third offense of operating while intoxicated and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the lane of traffic on State Rd. 17 at State Rd. 64 in the Town of Pine River.

Nine people reported striking deer last week. On Tuesday, a Gleason man found an eagle that was struck and killed on State Rd. 17 near R & H Rd. The bird was turned over to the DNR. A Tomahawk man was injured after he struck a horse on the roadway at the intersection of US Hwy. 8 and County Rd. L in the Town of Bradley Thursday evening. The horse was killed in the crash.
