NORTHERN WISCONSIN – Ascension at Home grief support groups are adult gatherings providing added support to individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one. Members have the opportunity to gather in a safe and caring environment with other mourners to share memories, discuss current life experiences and grief reactions in an effort to better understand grief and the associated changes impacting one’s life.
These groups are open to any community adult experiencing grief. There is no fee to attend and no pre-registration is required.
The Merrill group will meet the second Thursday of the month, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Merrill Enrichment Center, 303 North Sales Street.
The Rhinelander group will meet the third Tuesday of the month, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Ascension at Home, 111 E. Davenport Street, Suite 101.
The Arbor Vitae group will meet the second Thursday of the month, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Ascension at Home, 1571 Hwy. 51 N., Suite C.
The Eagle River Side by Side group will meet the third Thursday of the month, 1 – 2:30 p.m., at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish Church, 5001 Co Rd. G.
The Minocqua group will meet the first Wednesday of the month, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 403 E. Chicago Avenue.
Healing Hearts, a group for processing loss and grief creatively will meet the first Tuesday of the month, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Old School Arts and Learning Center Riverview Hall, 903 Boyce Drive in Rhinelander.
Men Connecting Through Grief is an open gathering for men of all ages who have experienced the death of a loved one. This group will meet the fourth Thursday of the month, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Ascension at Home, 111 E. Davenport Street, Suite 101 in Rhinelander.
Piece of My Heart is a group to help bereaved parents. This group will meet the first Thursday of the month, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the First Congressional Church of Christ, 135 E. Larch Street in Rhinelander.
