Edward O. Johnson, 89, passed away in his sleep on Dec. 16, 2019, at the Gulfside Hospice Rucki Care Center.

Ed was born on March 6, 2930 in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Ed married Janice F. Schimka on May 24, 1957, had and raised three children: Steve, Julie and Ken.

Ed was a bricklayer and enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, softball and playing billiards. Ed coached Little League and was a Scoutmaster. Ed enjoyed spending his retirement between Tomahawk and Blue Jay Park in Dade City, Fla., where he like to tell a long list of his favorite “Ollie and Lena” jokes.

He will be remembered by his daughter Julie (Curt) Vicroy; Ken (Frances); grandchildren, Jarret, Ky;er, Christine, Joanna, Alaine, Victoria, Eric, Kendra and Dana; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
