FOR THE TOMAHAWK LEADER

TOMAHAWK – Nicolet College’s Academic Success Center in Tomahawk is now open for the Spring Term for students to meet with instructors in person and also to communicate with them online from home or other off-campus locations.

The center is located at the Tomahawk Public Library, 300 W. Lincoln Ave., Tomahawk. Hours for face-to-face instruction are Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Free instruction is available for individuals preparing to attend college, build academic skills for the workplace, earn a GED or HSED, learn basic computer skills or learn to speak English.

Last fall, the Academic Success Department also significantly expanded its online offerings so students can complete all of their coursework from home or other locations at times best suited for them.

“Transportation and arranging child care are all-too-common barriers for individuals to earn their GED or HSED,” said Lisa Young, director of Adult Basic Education at Nicolet. “With these new services, we’ve been able to remove those barriers, make the learning process much more flexible for students, and ultimately open the door wider for more people to earn their GED or HSED so they can get farther ahead in life.”

All services are free and open to anyone.

Spring Term instruction will be available through April 24. No classes will be held Feb. 12 and March 5 and 6.

The Nicolet Campus is located at 5364 College Dr., Rhinelander.

For more information, contact the Nicolet College Academic Success Center at 715-365-4455, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4455; TTY 1-800-947-3529 or 711.
