Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Jan. 26, 2020

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Sunday, Jan. 26:

A Tomahawk woman, 20, was injured after a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in the Town of Bradley. The woman was traveling east on US Hwy. 8 when she was struck by a westbound vehicle being driven by a Ringle man, 46, attempting to turn onto the southbound ramp of US Hwy. 51. Portions of US Hwy. 8 were closed for about an hour as the scene was cleared.

Two people were injured following a crash on State Rd. 17 at Barnes Creek. A Gleason man, 84, was transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital while a Merrill woman, 59, was transported to Ascension Good Samaritan. None of the injuries were considered life threatening. STH 17 was closed for about an hour as the scene was cleared.

Deputies arrested a Neopit man, 47, after investigating a suspicious vehicle Monday evening in the Town of Scott. A check on the passenger showed he was wanted by the Shawano County Sheriff for failing to pay child support.

A Wausau man, 35, was uninjured when his pickup truck, pulling a trailer with a snowmobile, entered the median and rolled over on USH 51 near County Rd. J Wednesday morning. Traffic was restricted for an hour as the crash was cleared.

A Merrill woman, 62, was uninjured after her vehicle was struck by a log truck on State Rd. 64 near Deer Run Ave. in the Town of Pine River. The woman pulled out in front of the westbound truck, causing the crash. She was cited for failing to yield.

A Schofield woman, 51, was arrested Monday morning on charges of disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

A Town of Merrill man, 25, was arrested on Thursday on two misdemeanor charges related to animal cruelty. The complete information was posted on the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

A West Allis man, 59, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia Friday evening after a traffic stop on State Rd. 86 in the Town of Tomahawk.

A Manawa woman, 18, was injured Friday evening after a crash on USH 51 near Nibler Rd. just before 9 p.m. A pickup truck towing a snowmobile trailer left the roadway and crashed after hitting black ice.

A Kaukauna man, 28, was arrested Saturday evening after deputies investigated a crash on US Hwy. 51 near County Rd. S in the Town of Bradley 10:30 p.m. A check on a passenger showed he was wanted on a felony warrant in Outagamie County related to drugs and bail jumping. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Repeated snow storms caused issues on the roadways last week. The dispatch center handled nearly 50 calls of crashes. Twenty slide-offs were also checked on.

Four people reported striking deer last week.
