Pat Genelin, age 84, of Tomahawk, passed away at her home on Feb. 28, 2020 surrounded by her family and under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.

Pat was born on June 6, 1935 in Mankato, Minn., to her parents Ambrose and Helen (McCall) Kopp. She grew up only about nine miles from the man she would eventually marry, Jim Genelin. Jim and Pat were married on Aug. 23, 1954 in Minnesota. Together, they had seven children. Pat stayed home to raise her children and also worked various jobs outside of the home. She worked for Green Giant and also as a waitress, locally at the Bridge and the Pine Tree, and had been very active in the family business, Industrial Packaging.

Pat is survived by her husband – Jim Genelin of Tomahawk; her children –Tony (Diane) Genelin of La Crosse, Mike Genelin of Grayslake, Ill., Mary (Jeff Pagel) Hardel of Wausau, Peggy (Rich) Johnson of Wausau, Brian (Diana) Genelin of Arcadia and Jeff (Dawn) Genelin of Tomahawk. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren, Anthony, Kelly, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Kali, Britt, Beau (Sarah), Mike (Khadija), Rachael, Matt, Molly, Jamie (Brad), Justin (Devon), Jenna (Mike), Luke, Elise, Alonzo, Xavier, Corinn, and Ella. There are also 10 great-grandchildren surviving (Sebastian, Lila, Bashir, Aliya, Marcus, Jaxson, Kamden, Jordyn, Jaiden, and Jace). Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kevin Genelin, two sisters, and a brother.

The Memorial Mass for Pat Genelin will take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tomahawk. Visitation will take place on the evening of Friday, March 6 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at church from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass at Noon.
