Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: April 6, 2020

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, April 6:

A Deputy responded to property damage complaint at an establishment in Irma. Upon arrival he found a smoldering fire which contained unauthorized items being burned. The DNR was contacted and took over the investigation. Citations will be issued by the DNR.

A Merrill man, 40, was stopped for speeding on Thursday afternoon. As a result of the stop he was issued a citation for 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Charges of possession of marijuana will also be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

A Merrill man, 18, was stopped and cited for speeding 79 MPH in a 55 MPH zone just south of Merrill on Friday morning.

A Tomahawk man, 22, was arrested on charges of bail jumping, harassment, threats to do harm, and criminal damage to property on Friday afternoon. The arrest occurred following a disturbance in the Town of King.

The Town of Harding Supervisor has reported the theft of several road signs throughout the township. He indicated that three stop ahead signs and one weight limit sign were missing. Also missing were three barricades on Burma Rd. If you have any information regarding these thefts, you are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office, or you may make a report to Crime Stoppers using the P3 App or by calling 715-536-3726.

A Tomahawk man, 52, was cited for trespassing on a property in the Town of Bradley on Friday evening.

A Verona woman, 23, was stopped and cited for travelling 91 MPH in a 65 MPH zone Friday night on USH 51 in the Town of Merrill.

A Schofield man, 29, was cited for operating after suspension and operating without insurance on County Rd. W in the Town of Pine River Sunday afternoon.

Six people reported striking deer last week.
