LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Health Department stated in a press release on Friday, May 15, that a third individual has tested positive for COVID-19 in Lincoln County.

The individual, who is in isolation, is in their 50s and is expected to have become infected through community transmission.

The Health Department said it is contacting others with whom the individual had close contact with.

“Although the (Safer at Home) order is no longer in place, we are still in a pandemic and we have disease in our community,” stated Shelley Hersil, Health Department Director and Health Officer.

“COVID-19 has the potential at any given point in the future to spread rapidly,” the department said. “It is critical that individuals, businesses and organizations continue to practice physical distancing and good personal hygiene.”
