Melody “Mel” Albrent-Zaborsky, age 61, of Merrill, and formerly of Tomahawk, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020, surrounded by her family, at Marshfield Medical Center.
Melody was born in a cabin on the Willow in Tripoli, Wis., to Betty (Zerbe) Albrent and Glenn Anderson on April 13, 1959. She attended Tomahawk High School before moving to Merrill in 1983, after the death of her first husband, Harold “Tink” Bohnert. After moving to Merrill, she married Steven Zaborsky on Aug. 9, 1991.
Melody’s biggest joy was caring for her family and friends, and she will be sorely missed. Her interests included cooking, bird feeding and watching, motorcycle riding with her husband, and playing pool. Her favorite musical artists were Cyndi Lauper and Janis Joplin. Before retiring in 2019, Melody was employed for many years at Pine Crest Nursing Home, starting as a CNA, and later working in the Housekeeping Department. She was a natural-born caregiver and she loved pleasing others.
Survivors include: Her husband, Steve Zaborsky, of Merrill; one son, Daniel Zaborsky, of Merrill; three brothers, Ben Albrent, of Lewisville, Minn., Don (Shirley) Albrent, of Tomahawk, and Marshall “Todd” (Connie) Hulce, of Schofield, Wis.; four sisters, Carol Ullman, of Merrill, Brenda Albrent, of Janesville, Wis., Sheila (Mark) Hulce-Dittmann, of Tomahawk, and Angela “Angel” Hulce, of Boscobel, Wis. Melody is further survived by her aunt, Ida (Ben) Brown, and many, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will also be missed by her Forever Friend and brother-in-law, Bob Zaborsky, of Merrill. Melody’s inner light shined brightly, and she had a multitude of friends.
