ONEIDA COUNTY – We are in a great need for adults of all ages to consider volunteering a few hours to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound older adults living in the Greater Rhinelander Area.

Besides delivering a hot nutritious meal, volunteers are also providing an important safety check for individuals often living alone with no other personal contact.

Volunteers receive reimbursement for their mileage on the meal route (currently the rate is 57.5 cents per mile) as well as the priceless appreciation from the diners they deliver to. Some volunteers enjoy working with a spouse or friend, making the route more efficient and enjoyable.

Meals on Wheels is operated by the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Oneida County from their building at 100 W Keenan St. in Rhinelander (across the parking lot from Trig’s).

For more information on volunteering, contact Dawn Johnson at the ADRC of Oneida County in Rhinelander at 715-369-6170 or 1-800-379-7499, or by emailing adrc@co.oneida.wi.us.
