As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Aug. 17, 2020:

A Merrill woman, 82, was contacted on Wednesday afternoon by a caller claiming to be her grandson who was in trouble. The caller stated that he was injured from being in a crash and was in trouble for hitting a pregnant woman and needed $3,200 right away. The woman did not fall for the scam and was able to verify her grandson was safe and did not make the call. The call came from the phone number 419-213-4750.

A Rhinelander male, 16, was stopped and cited for traveling 91 MPH on USH 51 south of Irma on Thursday. The offense could result in the suspension of driving privileges.

A Merrill man, 35, was arrested for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated Sunday morning after a deputy observed him do a burn out in front of a local establishment.

A Gleason man, 30, was arrested following a domestic disturbance. The man was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of battery domestic-related, disorderly conduct domestic-related and two counts of bail jumping.
