TOMAHAWK – The School District of Tomahawk during its annual meeting held on Tuesday, Sept. 8 provided citizens with the opportunity vote on the district’s proposed tax levy for the 2020-2021 school year.

District Administrator Terry Reynolds noted the district’s budget for the school year had been approved by the school board in July, and reminded those in attendance that the numbers are preliminary.

“The final numbers are really not known until the October meeting,” he stated.

The district’s operating levy is $14,214,297, a 1.377% increase from last year, Reynolds explained.

“This represents an increase of $193,163.00 from the previous year (2019-20) and a tax levy rate of $9.44 per thousand of valuation compared to $9.31 per thousand in 2019-20,” a budget summary from the district stated.

The tax levy was ultimately approved by those in attendance.

The district’s next annual meeting will be held on Sept. 14, 2021.
