Varsity volleyball falls to Medford, sweeps Rhinelander

The Tomahawk Hatchet volleyball team traveled to Medford on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and fell 1 to 3.

“Meghan Scholz led the team in kills with 12,” head coach Lauren Pfeifer stated. “Amalie Kurth, Alyssa Klopatek and Mackenzie Scholz each finished with two aces.” Alyssa Klopatek led the team in digs with five.

Meghan Scholz finished the match with six blocks, and Katie Pierce had three. Makenzie Scholz finished the match with 23 assists.

The JV1 volleyball dropped all three sets.

“The offense was led by Macy Jankiewicz with six kills, and Shelby Grigg with four kills,” head coach Emily Pierce said. “Sammy Gebauer had teo aces, Bella Weber had 18 digs, and Ashley Beck had nine assists.”

The varsity Hatchets swept the Rhinelander Hodags 3 to 0 at home on Thursday, Oct. 1, by scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-14.

“Carly Scholz and Alyssa Zehner led the team in aces with four a piece,” Pfeifer said. “Meghan Scholz finished the match with three blocks and 11 kills. Alyssa Klopatek led the team with four digs. Mackenzie Scholz finished the match with 20 assists.”
