Jeanette Francis Powell, 93, Apache Junction, Ariz., passed away peacefully Oct. 18, 2020 with her husband by her side. Jeanette was born to life Jan. 24, 1927 in Racine, Wis., to the late Frank and Louise (Weiss) Martin. She married Joseph Anthony Powell on June 28, 1952 in Racine.

Jeanette had a devoted faith to God and an everlasting smile and zest for life. Jeanette lived in Apache Junction for many years, but spent much of her life in Tomahawk, Wis., as a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Joseph and Jeanette raised three sons: Joel (Carmen) Powell of Arizona, Mark (Joanne) Powell of Tomahawk, and William Powell of Tomahawk. Surviving along with her husband and children are her sisters: Therese DuPlayee of Tomahawk and Helen (Roger) Higgins of Iowa; grandchildren: Jennifer (Ted) Bushar, Benjamin (Heather) Powell, Ranee’ (Jeremy) Wright, Jed (Maggie) Powell, Stephen (Nicole) Maroda, and Elicia (Anthony) Harris. Jeanette is further survived by many nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, and soon a great- great-grandchild!

Jeanette was preceded in death by her mother and father, and three brothers: John, Frank, Conrad and one sister, Marion.

Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Jeanette will forever be carried in our hearts. May we all smile warmly when we see a monarch butterfly floating in the air.

The family will not be holding services, but instead leave you with the following passage from John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
