MERRILL – The Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD) is offering adult Walk-In Wednesday Flu Shot Clinics on Nov. 4 and Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at LCHD, 607 N. Sales Street, Suite 101, Merrill. No appointments are necessary.

“The best way to prevent the flu is by getting your flu shot,” said Jennifer Johnson, Public Health Nurse for LCHD. “COVID-19 symptoms can look a lot like flu and vice versa. Masks, distance, and excellent hand washing are all important to prevention of disease spread. The flu shot is another necessary piece to protect ourselves and others.”

The cost of the quadravalent flu shot is $40.00. No high dose flu vaccine is available. Traditional Medicare, Security Health Plan (Essence, Esteem and Spirit), and Railroad Retirement are accepted. LCHD is unable to bill any other Medicare Advantage Plans, private insurance (Humana, United Health Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc.), or Medical Assistance. LCHD asks those received a flu shot to bring an insurance card. Only cash or checks will be accepted.

Flu vaccines will be available while supplies last.

Face coverings will be required for all individuals receiving a flu shot.

For more information about the flu or scheduled clinics, call LCHD at 715-536-0307. For more information about LCHD’s programs and services, visit www.lincolncountyhealthdepartment.com or find the department on Facebook.
