Can we all be friends again?

After Tuesday, we can go back to not-being-in-an-election-season but only for a few months for I fear the 2022 midterms will be on the table soon. Some things learned during the 2020 campaign: We spend way too much time. We spend way too much money. We don’t try to convince but instead strive to belittle opponents. Clear truth is hard to find. We get a blizzard of data from the internet but it is more often incomplete than not. We believe our candidate has all the good and that the other candidate has no good.

From data now available, we might just have the greatest number of votes ever cast in this election, and that is good. Our Republic needs every one of us to vote, and to own our vote. I have no remedy for how

we can do better but I pray that we might a way.

Anyhow, now can we all be friends again — for a little while?
