TOMAHAWK – Northland CPAs President Ben Hauser, CPA, announced last week that the firm received the highest rating possible from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Peer Review Program. After an external review of the firm’s engagements in accounting, Northland CPAs received the official AICPA peer review rating of “pass” on Jan. 10, 2021.
Northland CPAs has offices in Tomahawk, Rhinelander, and Woodruff.
“We are pleased to share the results and are appreciative of our team’s commitment to excellence,” Hauser said. “Professional development is a priority for us. Many of our accountants pursue higher degrees or credentials while working at the firm and we have participated in the AICPA Peer Review Program every three years since the firm’s inception in 2000, always receiving the most favorable rating.”
The AICPA sets the ethical standards in the accounting industry. Its Peer Review Program helps to uphold the quality of performance of accounting work. Firms can receive a rating pass, pass with deficiency(ies), or fail.
The Peer Review Public File provides a list of public accounting firms and their enrollment status in the AICPA Peer Review Program. While firms may be “active” in the program, only firms posting a “pass” are listing the highest-level rating.
“It’s a nationally recognized program and it is rigorous,” Hauser explained. “To achieve the highest-level standard, we must follow up-to-the-minute quality accounting practices. It is an important yardstick of professionalism and integrity in our industry and I am very proud of our team.”
