eSports: Hatchets capitalize on early momentum to earn convincing wins

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet eSports team won each of its matches in convincing fashion last week.

Team Smite took on Williams Bay on Wednesday, March 17. The Hatchets came out strong, earning four kills only one minute into the game, and rode that momentum to a 31-1 victory with a 20,000 gold lead.

Coach Paula Norman said the big start to the match gave the team the confidence it needed to win in a record-breaking time of 18 minutes and seven seconds and congratulated the team on its great teamwork.

The Rocket League team faced Whitefish Bay on Thursday, March 18 and won three games in a row to take the best-of-five series.

The Hatchets took Game One with an 11 to 1 blowout. Game Two was a little closer, but the Hatchets emerged with a 3 to 0 win. The Hatchets followed their Game Two shutout with another in Game Three, winning 7 to 0 to seal the match.

Team Smite is now 2-1 on the season, and Team Rocket League is 3-0.
