13th annual NCO Club, AmVets Post 724 ice fishing tournament a success

For the Tomahawk Leader

LAKE NOKOMIS – The NCO Club and AmVets Post 724 hosted its 13th annual ice fishing tournament on Lake Nokomis in January to benefit area veterans organizations.

All-in-all, it was a great day on the ice. Below are the results of the tournament.

Walleye

First place, Thomas Sachs, 19 1/4”; second place, Jim Charles, 19”; third place, Jesse Karaw, 18 1/2”; fourth place, Jason Pophal, 17 1/2”.

Northern

First place, Jeff Kinnally, 33 1/4”; second place, Ralph Zuiker, 32”; third place, Ryan Hanson, 29 1/2”; fourth place, Bernie Sherwood, 28”.

Perch

First place, Aron Carter, 11 7/8”; second place, Dave Hughart, 11 3/4”; third place, Tom Tasse, 11 5/8”; fourth place, Brent Mattson, 10 ½”.

Crappie

First place, Grayson Anderson, 14 ¼”; second place, Aupen Greenwald, 13 ¾”; third place, Allen Erickson, 13 ½”; fourth place, Randy Niewolny, 13 ¼”.

Bluegill

First place, Travis Schmidt, 9 1/4”; second place, Tom Stevens, 9 ¼”; third place, Tom Stevens, 9 ¼”; fourth place, Jason Kluck, 9”.
