Elizabeth Elliott, age 89, long-time resident of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Elizabeth was born to parents Hazel and Russell D’Arcy on Jan. 18, 1932, in Chicago, Ill. After attending college, she married her childhood sweetheart, Roger Elliott, in 1950, with whom she raised three children. Roger preceded her in death in March of 2003.
Throughout most of their early lives, the Elliott family lived in many different areas of the United States but had the strongest ties to Wisconsin. Elizabeth was incredibly active in her communities and had many accomplishments. She was an author, was a licensed real estate agent, and owned and ran multiple businesses. In 1990, she returned to Wisconsin to be near her children and grandchildren. Elizabeth was also known for her compassion and generosity toward local children and families in need, as well as for rescuing animals.
She is survived by her three children, Bud, Lynnette, and Debra, as well as four grandchildren, Sheilah, Matthew, Christopher, and Jason.
There will be no viewing or formal service as per Elizabeth’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Merrill Humane Society where Elizabeth adopted her beloved cat, Fancy.
