Jeffrey Paul Bartelt “Bart”

We lost our brother and friend on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from ongoing health issues. His kind heart and unique personality will be greatly missed.

Born July 11, 1958 to George and Joanne Bartelt, Jeff was extremely intelligent, and showed an early affinity for art and music that continued throughout his life. A 1976 graduate of Tomahawk HS, he excelled in all things and went on to earn a degree in Arts & Communication from UW-Green Bay.

Jeff, ‘Uncle Bart’ worked for a time as a broadcaster for WJJQ and other stations out East. He travelled the country, exploring and performing, and later taught Art for the Milwaukee Public Schools and was a substitute teacher for the Tomahawk Public Schools.

What gave him the most joy was singing for appreciative audiences with his beloved guitar. When he was not performing, he would often be seen around town with a book in hand, ever the scholar.

Jeff is survived by brothers – Tim of Tomahawk, Mike of Virginia Beach, VA; and sister – Kate (Jim) McConnell of Portage.

A memorial is planned for Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Happy Snapper from Noon until 3 p.m.

Rest peacefully, brother.
