LINCOLN COUNTY – Governor Tony Evers announced on Tuesday, May 3 that he is seeking applications for Lincoln County District Attorney.

Lincoln County District Attorney Galen Bayne-Allison was elected to the Lincoln County Circuit Court in April, succeeding Judge Jay Tlusty, who did not seek another term on the bench.

Bayne-Allison, who will step down from his position as district attorney, has served in the role since 2016.

Evers is also seeking applications for district attorneys in Adams, Iowa, Portage and Rusk counties after each county’s district attorney was elected to their respective county’s circuit court.

The application period in each county will be open until May 25, after which time, appointments to the positions will be made by Evers. The appointees will serve for the remainder of the unexpired terms, which end in Jan. 2025.
