TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce is encouraging the community to take part in a celebration of everything that makes the area one-of-a-kind.
“715 Day,” held yearly on July 15, is named after the 715 area code, which encompasses much of the northern half of Wisconsin. The day aims to celebrate local businesses, community traditions and the Northwoods way of life, including the area’s many natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities.
“Whether you're a lifelong local or visiting for the first time, we invite you to discover why so many people return to Tomahawk year after year,” the Chamber said. “It's a day to support local, explore your backyard, and share what makes the 715 feel like home.”
The Chamber is encouraging the public to browse unique boutiques, specialty shops, outfitters and family-owned businesses “that give Tomahawk its welcoming small-town charm” and to “enjoy everything from classic Wisconsin supper clubs and waterfront dining to coffee shops, bakeries, ice cream stops and local favorites.”
“Throughout the year, Tomahawk comes alive with festivals, live music, community celebrations, farmers markets, sporting events and traditions that bring visitors and locals together,” the Chamber said. “The best way to celebrate the Northwoods is to share what makes it special through your own lens.”
To celebrate 715 Day, the Chamber is holding a photo contest.
“Whether it's a breathtaking sunset, your favorite fishing spot, a family adventure on the trails, a local event or the hidden gems that make Tomahawk unique, we want to see your best 715 moments,” the Chamber said.
