Posted

TOWN OF SPIRIT – Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H is set to host its 84th annual fair this weekend.

The Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H Fair will be held at the Spirit Town Hall, located about 19 miles west of Tomahawk on State Hwy. 86, on Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15. Friday evening is entry night, and Saturday morning judging begins at 9 a.m.

A total of 32 4-H members from the Wilson Workers, Restless Rascals, Happy Hoboes, Hillbillies and Hamburg Hawks will be exhibiting over 300 entries at this year’s fair.

A brat fry-style lunch will be available in the basement of the town hall on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additional food items, including ice cream, soda and popcorn, will be available for purchase throughout the day.

Outdoor games, including the frog jumping contest, egg toss, cross-cut sawing, hay bale stacking and tug-of-war pulls, will begin at 1 p.m. Exhibits will leave the fairgrounds at 4 p.m.

A closing program will begin at 7 p.m., featuring entertainment from the 4-H clubs, announcement of game winners, presentation of trophies and recognition of special merit recipients.

“Enjoy the animals of Whitehaven Petting Zoo, watch 4-Hers show their animals in the new show arena, check out the competition among indoor exhibits, view a display by the Crazy Heart Quilters, feast on some delicious food, participate in outdoor games, take a tour of the Spirit Historical Society's Our Yesterday House and enjoy time with neighbors and friends,” said Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H Fair Secretary Colleen Schult.
