LINCOLN COUNTY – Earlier this month, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office congratulated an employee on his retirement.
Corrections Officer Michael Tuley wrapped up his 22-year law enforcement career on Sunday, Feb. 1. He had spent the last nine years with the Sheriff’s Office.
“Michael’s career reflects a lifelong commitment to public safety, leadership and service to others,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “Throughout his career, he served in a variety of roles with the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Village of Stoddard Police Department, City of Thorp Police Department and the La Crosse Police Department. Michael also served our state and nation as a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard (Military Police), bringing that experience and professionalism into his civilian law enforcement and corrections career.”
The Sheriff’s Office said Tuley “brought extensive training and professionalism to every role, earning certifications and specialized training in SWAT, CERT, Taser, firearms, jail operations, supervision and emergency response.”
Tuley also served as a Jail Lieutenant earlier in his career and consistently stepped up when leadership was needed, the Sheriff’s Office noted.
Most recently, he served as a Corrections Sergeant from July 2023 to Dec. 2025, “where he supervised staff, ensured the safe and secure operation of the jail and led by example,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
“We thank Michael for his years of faithful service, leadership and commitment to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the community we serve,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “His contributions will not be forgotten, and his impact will be felt long after his retirement. Please join us in wishing Michael Tuley a well-deserved retirement and continued success in the next chapter of his life.”
