TOMAHAWK – Following a fire, a local business is thanking the Tomahawk Fire Department (TFD) and the community for their help and support.
Generations Funeral Home, located at 1400 N. 4th St. in Tomahawk, experienced a fire on Thursday, July 16. According to a post on the business’s Facebook page, the fire occurred in the back of the facility.
Generations said everything in the building remained intact and operational in the wake of the blaze.
“More or less it is smoke damage,” Generations stated.
On Monday, July 20, Generations said that due to the smoke damage that had impacted the entire facility, the business would temporarily operate from office space using the rear entrance of the neighboring building, located just north of the funeral home in the same parking lot.
The decision was made “out of an abundance of caution” and to ensure the safety of the families the business serves, Generations explained, noting that the business would continue offering its regular services.
Kevin Krueger of Generations gave a shoutout to his fellow Tomahawk Fire Department members for their quick response in extinguishing the fire, and Kevin, Karri, Jim, Melinda, Darrin, their families and the Generations staff said they are “incredibly grateful for the kindness, prayers and support our community has shown during this time.”
“Your encouragement means more than words can express, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with the same compassion and care you've always trusted us to provide,” Generations stated. “And remember…the coffee is still always on! We truly love our community.”
