LCVSO announces temporary closure for mandatory staff training

Posted

MERRILL – The Lincoln County Veterans Service Office (LCVSO) in Merrill recently announced that it will be closed for one week next month.

To allow staff to attend mandatory training, LCVSO will be closed from Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9.

A release from LCVSO said the annual spring conference provides essential professional development and continuing education opportunities for Veterans Service Officers.

“The training received at this conference ensures that our staff remains up-to-date on the latest laws, benefits and resources available to veterans and their families,” LCVSO stated. “Additionally, the conference provides valuable networking opportunities with other Veterans Service Offices across the state.”

While LCVSO is closed, veterans and their families can still access a variety of resources and assistance through the following channels:

  • VA Website: The Department of Veterans Affairs website (va.gov/) provides a wealth of information and resources for veterans, including benefits eligibility, healthcare services, and claims assistance.
  • VA Call Center: The VA operates a 24/7 call center where veterans can speak with a representative and receive assistance with their benefits and services.
  • Veteran Service Organizations: A number of Veteran Service Organizations, such as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, offer support and advocacy services to veterans and their families.

LCVSO said it is “committed to providing the highest quality of service to our veterans.”

“By attending this conference, our staff can maintain their accreditation with the Office of General Counsel and continue to provide accurate and comprehensive assistance to our clients,” LCVSO stated. “We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause and appreciate your understanding. We encourage veterans and their families to plan their visits to our office accordingly.”

LCVSO will reopen and resume normal business hours on Monday, May 12.
