LINCOLN COUNTY – Public access to the Lincoln County Veterans Service Office (LCVSO) will be suspended for one week in October to allow staff to attend an annual conference.
LCVSO will be temporarily closed from Monday, Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 16. Staff will be attending the mandatory 2026 County and Tribal Veterans Service Officer (CTVSO) Fall Conference.
In a release, LCVSO said the annual conference offers critical professional advancement and ongoing educational credits for Veterans Service Officers.
“Engaging in this curriculum ensures our personnel remain current on evolving legislation, entitlements and support systems for veterans and their dependents,” LCVSO stated. “Furthermore, the event facilitates essential collaboration with fellow Veterans Service Offices throughout the region.”
LCVSO said it is “steadfast in its mission to deliver premier advocacy to those who served,” noting that attending the conference is vital for maintaining official accreditation with the Office of General Counsel, allowing LCVSO to offer precise and thorough guidance to community members.
“We regret any disruption this scheduling may cause and value your cooperation,” LCVSO stated. “We advise veterans and their loved ones to coordinate their service needs accordingly.”
LCVSO provided the following alternative resources for veterans:
“Our department values your continued patience during this educational period,” LCVSO said.
Standard business hours are scheduled to recommence at LCVSO’s interim site at the Lincoln County Human Services building at 607 N. Sales St. in Merrill on Monday, Oct. 19.
