Lincoln County Jail launches new inmate communication service

Posted

MERRILL – Last week, the Lincoln County Jail in Merrill began using a new inmate telephone service provider.

The new system became operational on Thursday, March 12.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said friends and family who would like to communicate with individuals in custody via phone and/or video visitation must set up and fund a pre-paid account with the new provider, NCIC Inmate Communications, by calling 1-800-943-2189 or visiting www.ncic.com.

NCIC Inmate Communications is based in Longview, Tex.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, inmates will have access to secure wall-mounted phones “designed to provide a convenient way for inmates to communicate with friends and family.”

“Rates for phone calls with inmates have been reduced, compared to the old system,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “The system comes at no expense to taxpayers.”

For assistance with accounts, billing or technical support, individuals are advised to contact NCIC directly.
