As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Aug. 10:
On 08/04/2026 deputies were sent to area of CTH Q and Joe Snow Rd. in the Town of Scott for a two-vehicle crash involving an unmarked patrol car from the Wisconsin State Patrol. When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the State Patrol unit had been N/B on CTH Q, approaching the intersection of Joe Snow Rd. A second vehicle had been traveling E/B on Joe Snow Rd. and was stopped at the stop sign at CTH Q. The driver had stated she waited for a passing car and then proceeded through the intersection without seeing the patrol car. The second vehicle struck the State Patrol unit broadside in the driver’s door. The impact pushed the patrol car into the ditch. Neither driver reported injuries.
On 08/4/2026 deputies were sent to an address on Ainsworth Ave. in the Town of Birch for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that there was a female party who had been drinking and was throwing things and yelling. When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with the suspect, an Irma woman. It was determined that the woman had been drinking and was in violation of the rules of her probation. As a result of this, she was placed under arrest and transported to the Lincoln County Jail for a probation violation and turned over to jail staff.
On 08/4/2026 deputies were sent to the USH 51 truck stop in the Town of Scott for a customer who was being disorderly. An employee of the truck stop reported that a customer came in to buy alcoholic products, then went outside and drank them. He re-entered the store to buy some more, and they denied him service. When deputies arrived on scene, they first spoke with the witnesses prior to making contact with the suspect, who was later identified as a West Allis man. Following contact with the man, he was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.
On 08/8/2026 deputies were sent to the trail shelter on at CTH B and Ski Hill Rd. in the Town of Harrison to meet with a group of riders who were bringing a party who was injured in an ATV crash in the area. Investigation revealed that a group of ATVs were traveling together and were going to meet at the trailhead. After waiting a period of time, two of the ATVs didn’t show, so they turned around to go look for them. They had found that one of the ATVs in the group had crashed and rolled, injuring the rider. The group brought the injured driver out to meet with the ambulance, which transported the injured party to Aspirus Merrill Hospital.
On 08/8/2026 deputies were sent to an address on 1st Ave. in the Town of Russell for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that a female party was screaming and hitting her dog. The R/P was reporting that he believed the female suspect was under the influence of something. It was reported that the suspect, a Gleason woman, was outside with her dog listening to music when her dog ran into the R/P’s yard in pursuit of a rabbit. The R/P reported that he told the suspect to get her dog or he would shoot the animal, as he suspected the dog of killing some of his chickens. It was at that point that the woman started screaming at the dog, hitting it, and threatening the R/P. It was discovered that the woman is on probation with a no drinking rule. As a result, she was placed under arrest for the probation violation. She was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where she was turned over to jail staff. It was also learned that the R/P was also on probation, and as a result, charges will be sent to the district attorney’s office against him for probation violations.
On 08-9-2026 deputies were sent to an address on Joe Snow Rd. in the Town of Scott for a disturbance with a subject threatening another party with a knife. The R/P was reporting that the suspect, a Merrill man, was at the address and was threatening him with a knife and pointing it at the R/P. Another party at the house, also a Merrill man, was under court order not to have any contact with the R/P. The deputies spoke with the R/P, who had a video of the disturbance, showing the suspect throwing items and in possession of the knife. It was also reported that the suspect threatened to shoot the R/P. The suspect was placed under arrest for domestic disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering safety. He was placed under arrest for bail jumping for having contact with the R/P. Both were transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where they were turned over to jail staff.
Deputies conducted 56 traffic stops and 22 security checks.
Deputies responded to seven car vs. deer crashes.
